Here are some famous places you can visit and explore in 5 days.

Day 1:

Aguada Fort

Aguada Fort is a seventeenth-century well-maintained Portuguese Fort that was constructed in 1612. This Fort is divided into parts, the upper part acted as Fort and water station and the lower part provided a safe berth for the Portuguese ship. This Fort served as a reference point for ships arriving from Europe during that time. The Fort is located on the coast of the Mandovi River south of Candolim.

This Fort used to provide water supply to the ships that used to stop nearby, like this the Fort got its name ‘Aguada’ which means watery in the Portuguese language. Passing ships would often replenish their freshwater supplies here. You can visit Lighthouse and Aguada Central jail in this Fort. It is the best archaeological place in Goa for tourists to visit. This fort is glamorous and has many things to explore.

Divar Island

Divar Island is located in the Mandovi River in Goa. It is one of six major Islands that make up the Mandovi system. It is one of the stunning Islands with a rich history dating back to a time when it was home to a large section of Indians, especially those of Konkani descent. It is a place of tranquillity and charm where you can find peace. It is located at a distance of 10 km from Panjim. This Island also connects Old Goa, Raibandar and Naroa by ferry. Day 2:

Dona Paula

Dona Paula’s name is named after Goa’s viceroy daughter Dona Paula de Menezes. It is a meeting point of the Zuari and Mandoi Rivers. The scenery is picturesque to click photos. The whitewashed statue placed on a rock close to the ferry jerry is the Statue of Dona Paula. The statue represents the figures of ‘Mother India’ and ‘Young India’, where one looks at the East and the other looks at the West. This destination is considered to shoot for movies. Panjim

As most of you know that Panjim is the capital of Goa. Dr Saleem Ali bird Sanctuary

Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is situated on an island which is in North Goa. This place is surrounded by mangroves and many rare and local bird species. You need to take a ferry service from Ribander to Chorao. You will also find rare bird species as per the seasons. Common birds like striated heron and western reef heron are found. Little bittern, black bittern, red knot, jack snipe, pied avocet and others have also been observed here. Mangrove habitat specialists like hosts mudskippers, and fiddler crabs are also been found. Look no further than Chorao Island in Noth Goa! Nestled near the peaceful Mandovi River, this hidden gem offers a peaceful escape from the bustling crowds.

Old Goa

One of the Popular places known as St. Basilica of Bom Jesus is situated in Old Goa, which is full of the Goan history of St. Francis Xavier and old culture. The city was founded in the 15th century on the banks of the Mandovi River. The city was under the control of the Portuguese colony of Goa, particularly Velha Goa. The Church is huge enough and the exteriors are even more gorgeous which makes a must-visit and cannot be described in words. The mortal is still preserved in the glass coffin and everyone is allowed to visit and pay tribute to him during the feast of St. Francis Xavier. It is been believed and said that St. Francis Xavier has been protecting Goa with his almighty. The construction of the church was started in 1594 and it was fully completed in 1605.

Day 4:

Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary

It is located in Verulam Sanguem taluka of South Goa. It is the biggest wildlife sanctuary of Goa and part of the western ghats. The view is very pretty and attractive. You will get a good ambience and pleasant weather that will keep you lively. The sanctuary’s abundant perennial streams and diverse habitats support a healthy animal population. Numerous predators and herbivores, including gaur or Indian bison, Malabar giant squirrel, four-horned antelope, leopard, black sloth bear, and many others can be found in this sanctuary. There are also several different bird species that have been sighted in this sanctuary, including the uncommon Malayan night heron, Nilgiri wood pigeon, great pied hornbill, grey-headed bulbul, white-bellied blue flycatcher, Wynand laughing thrush, white-bellied treepie, and rufous babbler. It is both adventurous and educational, making it the perfect place to visit with a family.

Agonda Beach

One of the most charming beaches with a peaceful and clean environment. This beach is perfect for those who like to spend their time peacefully with their loved ones away from the crowded zone. Agonda beach is the ideal beach nearly two miles of this immaculate beach extend in an infinite seemingly endless manner. Shacks and cottages of all shapes and sizes border its perimeter. Day 5:

Palolem Beach

Palolem Beach in Goa, is renowned for its tranquil waters and nightlife. The Beach overlooks Canacona Island, which is home to monkeys and is bordered by tall palm trees and colourful decorated wooden shacks. The crescent shape of the beach makes it one of the most luxurious beaches in Canacona and consequently draws a great number of people. The optimal period to explore Palolem is between October and November, as shacks are in operation during this season. Additionally, you also have the opportunity to indulge in fresh seafood and simultaneously engage in water sports activities.

The Cape Goa
